Improvised Identity

Roy Hart Centre NL presents: Solo performance Zwaantje de Vries – “Improvised Identity”

Zwaantje de Vries uses voice, movement and texts in her multidisciplinary solo performance ‘Improvised Identity’. It is a theatre-composition about war, mothers and fathers, veterans and their children in a global world. Our world of hidden stories about, suppression and freedom and an abundance of meetings with the Unknown. The play will provide the spectator with shocking, hilarious, amusing and moving theatre .

“’Me’ is everything under my skin, ‘me’ is my intestines, stomach, thoughts, feelings, heart, lungs and my brains making up my biography. God is in me. There is no proof that God exists, neither is there proof that I exist.”

This solo performance follows a 3-day vocal workshop of Zwaan in the Roy Hart Theatre style. It is a beautiful example of how this voice method is effective and enthralling, in both singing and speaking.
